Jyartau are a parasite from an unknown plane. Infact very little is known about them or in most cases anything at all to the average masse's of people. They are undoubtedly intelligent, but their motives are mysterious. Those who have tried to established meaningful contact with them find that the most they can get is a meaningless yet amazing taste of Jyartau tounge. Scholars have debated for years the origins of Jyartau
and many theorys have been put forward. Some say they may come from some unknown elemetal plane of prismatics, some believe they exist within a plane of inverted colors. And these ideas could be true, for their appearance seems to point in that direction.
Jyartau are strange. They are technically speaking small, about 3 ft. tall and 2 ft. wide. However their insubstantial collection of gossamer wings make them appear a tad wider, and these wings cannot touch or be touched for they made only of light. The only physical part is their semi-transparent brain inside an even more semi-transparent exoskeleton. The insubstantial tendrils below and above it have no known purpose, possibly sensing organs for they appear to have no eyes, noses or any other features.
Jyartau have an unusual musical language, wicth is impossible for most living things to mimic. It sounds like a strange and somewhat manufactured ambient sound varying in tone and atmosphere depending on the Jyartau's mood. They live for a relatively short time, about 25 years at most. Jyartau names are unknown, let alone pronouncable for most creatures. Jyartau rarely become adventurers with humanoids, although Jyartau as a species often gang up into adventuring partys. Those who do adventure with humanoids often gain nick-names, for they seem to be able to understand Common, but not speak it. Psions often like Jyartau, for many can communicate telepathically with them there-fore converse quite easily with them.

COMBAT
Jyartau prefer to avoid fighting when possible. The most they will do in a dire situation is blast light in their enemys eyes and flee.
Light Blast (Su): Once per round a Jyartau can use an ability like sunburst except it only causes subdual damge, with an exception to undead and creatures vulnerable to sunlight.
Telepathy (Su): A Jyartau can communicate with any creature that speaks a language within a 80 ft. radius.
