Illusionary Dragons are intelligent and reclusive. They are somewhat unique among dragons. Their abilities and choice of spells are focused towards illusions.
Though physically smaller then other dragons, they can be a dangerous opponent as they learn to cast spells at a younger age. Illusionary dragons have a translucent, wispy and delicate appearance. This is partially due to their constant blur ability. Coloring varies from dragon to dragon, but light blues, greens and yellows blends are common. Their scales are small, shiny and grow in size with the dragon. Their eyes appearing to be swirling globes of fluid or liquid, and are usually a light blue. Their blur ability gives them the appearance of being somewhat larger then what they actually are.
Being very familiar with illusions, they are resistant to such spells and become more resistant as they age. They utilize their spells and abilities to their fullest potential, and aim towards confusing, tricking and driving off opponents. They choose liars that have a breeze within it or parts of it as they enjoy basking in the flowing cool air.

Combat
Illusionary dragons do not fear smaller opponents that they know they can handle, however, when up against larger and more dangerous opponents, they shun physical combat. Instead they will use their abilities, spells and their wit to trick, fool and hopefully, drive off the opponent. Great wyrms tend to trick opponents into close range, then use their weird ability on them. If a dragon knows of an attack before hand, they will use mirage arcana and persistent image to alter the looks of the area around and in their lair. The exact tactics used varies from dragon to dragon, as they are quite adaptable. As they are neutral, they tend to remain to themselves, however they to not tolerate intrusion very well. Although they area able to cast spells from any school, they have a preference for illusions.

Breath Weapon (Su): An illusionary dragon has one type of breath weapon, a cone of cold.

Spell-like abilities: At will - ghost sound; 3/day - improved invisibility and persistent image; 2/day - false vision, mirage arcana and shadow walk; 1/day - weird.

Blur (Su): The dragon can use this ability at will. It is similar to a blur spell except that it grants the dragon three-quarters concealment (30% miss chance).

Immunities (Ex): The dragon has cold immunity and is immune to sleep and paralysis effects.

Illusion Familiarity (Ex): Illusionary dragons have a racial bonus on all saving throws versus illusions. This bonus increases as the dragon ages.
