Almost as alien to some as the strange arcane beasts known as Spell Weavers, the Psiantrix are the constantly silent spirits of the earth, connected to the the mind of the world - to the psionic potential of nature itself. A Psiantrix stands roughly four feet tall, and is typically very slender. They have pale, almost white skin, and two apparently blind, unseeing eyes. Their faces are blank, with but a single nostril and no apparent mouth, and their heads are bald and hairless. Each arm ends in two hands, each oriented in an opposite direction. Despite their appearance, they are not fragile by any means. Individual Psiantrix are usually found travelling underground, using their incredible versatility to overcome otherwhise insurmountable obstacles. Their silent, watching faces unnerve many a miner who's encountered them, and it is not uncommon for encounters with dwarves to degenerate into violence. Their common goals seem to be to locate vast veins of crystal. However, once located, the creatures seem merely content to simply leave. Psiantrix appear to have no gender, and have no known means of breeding. They also have no obvious means of communicating, though research states that as psionic beings, they should have the capacity to communicate telepathically. Any communication done with other creatures is usually through highly ornate hand gestures, or, occasionally, by simple domination of another creature that is then used to communicate. The Psiantrix seem to have very little respect for other races' preferences regarding control of their own bodies.

COMBAT
Psiantrix enter into combat with no visible emotion or opinion. They simply fight. Due to their incredible psionic power, they are truly formidable foes to encounter, and are typically able to assess any psionic threats before combat starts. They typically open by casting a volley of powers at any psion or wizard, then attempt to destroy any rogues, then they concern themselves with fighters. Only when all are slain will they bother to deal with Sorcerors, despite the danger these characters may pose.
Psionics (Sp): A Psiantrix may manifest any power of 1-6th level freely, regardless of discipline or primary stat. These powers are as those manifested by a 12th-level psion.
Attack/Defense Modes: At Will - Id Insinuation, Ego Whip/Tower of Iron Will, Empty Mind.

PSIANTRIX KNOWLEDGE
The Psiantrix are an alien race in name only. Only their ultimate strangeness makes them any kind of outsider to this world, and their study seems to be almost impossible, as their bodies are rarely, if ever, recovered, and their language is unknowable. Therefore, the study of Psiantrix is an exercise in extrapolation.

Knowledge (Psionics or Nature) check results:
DC 25: Psiantrix are beings that have the ability to emulate any psionic power they see of 6th level or lower. This knowledge seems to spread instantaneously amongst the race. Showing a power to a Psiantrix is a way to get the power known by every Psiantrix in the world.
DC 35: No race has any kind of actual understanding of the origin of Psiantrix. They simply were, one day, and they were not the day before. The Felbraug have legends that speak of the Psiantrix, but the actual details are no more than theory.
DC 45:
The deep races' legends speak of psionics and the powers thereof as being powers awakened in the earth by the living races - and these powers in turn created a race to investigate and research this strange, new force. This race of people are, they say, the Psiantrix.

Psiantrix are in fact an expression of nature itself embracing psionics as a power akin to divine magic. The Psiantrix and their constant seeking for crystal is in fact the world's own form of studying the phenomenon. They are the protectors of this new force, and intend to nurture it, and promote its use amongst the common races.
